The Story Behind the Dish

📍 Central and northern Mexico📅 Traditional🍅 MX

Entomatadas are the mildest member of the enchilada family: instead of chilli sauce, the tortillas are dipped in tomato sauce, which makes them popular with children.

They're a typical light supper in Mexican homes, often made with leftover tortillas.

⭐ Why It's Famous

Soft, cheesy and gently tangy, they're simple comfort food anyone can make.

💡 Fun Fact

In Sonora and Sinaloa, entomatadas are often served with a side of fried beef (carne asada) or chorizo.
