Steps

Mash the fruit
In two separate small bowls, mash the strawberries with a fork until mostly smooth, then do the same with the blueberries in their own bowl. Keep the two colors apart so you get two distinct swirls later.
- 100 g strawberries
- 100 g blueberries
✅ Done when: fruit is mashed with no large chunks left

Mix the yogurt base
In a large bowl, stir together the Greek yogurt, mashed banana, vanilla and cinnamon until smooth and evenly mixed. Taste it: the banana should give enough sweetness, with no need for sugar or honey.
- 500 g Greek yogurt
- 1 (about 100 g) mashed banana
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pinch cinnamon
✅ Done when: mixture is smooth, pale, and evenly colored

The Story Behind the Dish
Thick strained yogurt, giaoúrti, has been a daily food in Greek homes for generations, eaten plain or lightly sweetened with fruit and honey. This frozen bark takes that same simple pairing of yogurt and fruit and turns it into a cold treat, swapping honey for mashed ripe fruit so it suits even the smallest eaters.
Families across Greece freeze yogurt and fruit together in all kinds of simple forms, especially in the hot summer months, as an easy way to cool down children without reaching for store-bought ice cream.
⭐ Why It's Famous
It takes the clean, tangy taste Greek yogurt is loved for worldwide and turns it into a fun, snappable frozen snack with no added sugar at all.
💡 Fun Fact
Greece is one of the world's biggest consumers of yogurt per person, and strained, thick-set Greek yogurt owes its texture to this long tradition of straining out the whey.
